Community Impact
Emmaus House served 30,000 meals to over 1,000 homeless and hungry men, women and children in 2011. For many, this was their only meal of the day. Our laundry and shower facilities were used over 600 times during the year. We gave out coats, jackets, scarves, hats and gloves to more than 100 people; and provided blankets, pillows and sleeping bags to 25 people.
Helping Hands provided rent, utility and grocery assistance to 125 families in 2010. These families included 230 children. This also includes households where the clients are disabled or mentally ill and senior citizens.
Your Impact
In 2011, we had over 3,500 volunteer hours given! Savannah congregations gave us over $17,000. We received over $25,000 in community support. We are grateful for support from Harris Bakery, Publix Supermarkets, Riverstreet Sweets, Derst Bakery and many others.
