Each weekday morning, Emmaus House Soup Kitchen serves approximately 100 to 150 hot and hearty plates of food to those who would otherwise go without. The word ‘breakfast’ is used very lightly, as our chef calls the meal “…a time of day rather than a type of food…” We serve good home-cooked meals that nourishes not only the body but the soul.

In addition to a meal, we also provide laundry services, hot showers and a Clothing Closet. Our clients come primarily from the very many tent communities spread around the city. These are individuals who sleep in conditions not meant for human habitation, with hygienic solutions not in place. Emmaus House provides a space where our most vulnerable can come inside, away from the elements, and maintain the dignity that is a basic human need.

Each plate of food is valued at $3.50. Your monthly tax-deductible membership will allow us to continue to meet and combat the growing population of individuals facing homelessness. You will help us to confront the regular wear and tear that comes with using residential washer and dryer machines in a very commercial way. Your membership will help us meet the need while the demand continues to rise. YOU will be part of the movement to ensure that people experiencing homelessness in Savannah have access to dignity!

As a Sustaining Member, you will receive:

  • Recognition on our website and social media
  • Our monthly newsletter highlighting the impact of your contributions
  • Tax deductible receipts via email and/or mail
  • A super awesome bumper sticker!
  • Buckets and buckets of gratitude!
